When should we consult a fertility specialist?

If you have been trying to conceive for 12 months without success, it is advisable to consult a fertility specialist. For women aged 35 or above, consultation may be considered after 6 months of trying. Earlier evaluation may also be helpful if there are known reproductive health concerns.

What tests are needed to evaluate fertility?

Fertility evaluation may include hormonal blood tests, ultrasound, ovulation assessment, semen analysis, and evaluation of the uterus and fallopian tubes. The recommended tests depend on the individual medical history of both partners.

What is the difference between IUI, IVF and ICSI?

IUI places prepared sperm directly into the uterus. IVF involves fertilizing the egg with sperm in a laboratory and transferring the embryo into the uterus. ICSI is a specialized IVF technique where a single sperm is injected directly into an egg.

How long does fertility treatment take?

The duration depends on the treatment and individual response. IUI may take a few weeks, while an IVF cycle generally takes around 3–6 weeks, depending on the treatment protocol and medical requirements.

Is fertility treatment safe?
